Mongo Collection Mysteriously unavailable

Multi tool use
We are running a mongo on single EC2 instance, we were not able to connect to it , upon debugging we saw CPU usage was spiking , this was the problem we faced previously we then restarted the instance and all connections were restored.
Now after two days same problem occurred, we tried to restart the instance and after that we found out our database is missing. Others database are as it is, only one got affected.
We saw mongo logs and it shows nothing about it , is there a way to find out what went wrong and to recover the data ?
