Can't connect to Amazon RDS Postgres instance as master user
The name of my master user is root. I'm trying to gain access as the master user so that I can grant usage on some schemas to the main user. But I can't connect.
I've changed the master user password in the RDS console several times. No matter what I try, in my SQL client I get:
FATAL: password authentication failed for user "root"
Switching my user and password back to the main user works perfectly. Is there some trick to connecting as the master user?
