How would a schema structure for block storage file system with version control look like?
Given that there is parent ID based file level storage meta-data in DB, files in storage.
I've to convert it into block storage and manage blocks indexes and also implement versioning for new/ updated blocks.
I made a design for separate blocks index table which has blocks and hashes pointing to associated files. But, I'm confused in implementing versioning for the same. As there will be repetitive blocks pointers in indexes for new file version.
Will this be doable without replicating whole blocks index of a file for new version?
How'd I design (tables) a versioning for this kind of block storage and link them effectively? The blocks have fixed size.
