I have two linked servers on SQL 2017 that have poor network performance using SSMS, when using Windows File...

Running into a very odd issue.

I have two servers both on MS SQL 2017 that when using windows file sharing have a network connection of over 500Mbps (measured with large files both ways)

Using SQL and a select * into, I'm getting only 10Mbps both ways.

Any idea why using SSMS would be so much slower then the network capacity allows for?

Thanks
